I enjoy a good quote. It can start my day off just right. A good quote full of wisdom can be enlightening and refreshing. Giving me that “Ah Ha” moment. Many quotes I have found to be thought provoking and has helped me move in the right direction. Out of all the quotes that I adore and have aided in my growth, there has been 3 that I keep in the forefront of the thoughts daily. Each quote that I find, I always try to back it up Biblical. Each have been such a blessing to me, I’m hopeful they will bless you the same.
“When you make a mistake, there are only 3 things you should ever do: 1. Admit it. 2. Learn from it. 3. Don’t repeat it” -Bear Bryant (Romans 8:38)
I am someone who is naturally hard on myself. I often don’t need someone to “check” me when I realize I have made a mistake because I have a sensitive conscious and I am already “checkin” myself. Often when I make a mistake I can dwell on it over and over. However, when I think of this quote I am grounded to take the steps to forgive myself, grow and move forward. I like to add #4, which is to Apologize. Apologize to myself or anyone else I may have hurt or offended.
“Dance like no one is watching. Sing Like no one’s listening. Love like you have never been hurt. Live like it’s heaven on earth.” -Mark Twain (John 10:10)
This is a tough one. Living in a world where there is so much wrong judgment and criticism, it can be hard to be yourself. What I have learned is that no matter what we do, whether it’s sing, dance, juggle or drive, there will always be someone ready to critique. If we were to constantly be concerned with every critique, then we wouldn’t fully live and enjoy life. It reminds me to take risks…because they are worth it.
“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about”. -Wendy Mass (Ephesians 4:32)
I’ve had to learn that not everyone that we are to run across will be the most pleasant. To be honest I’ve ran across quite a few thorns and have gotten my feelings hurt. Yet, I’ve found this quote to be true. Everyone deals with their pain/battle differently. Therefore, their behavior may not be the same as mine, I’m reminded to be patient with everyone, including myself.
Ladies After Wisdom (L.A.W.), I find freedom in growth. I find joy in bettering myself and the ones I love. I am hopeful that you are investing in yourself to grow and gain wisdom. Of course, no quote we may find or come across can compare to the infinite wisdom that is in God’s Word. So we must remember to cling to the Bible. What has helped you mature and grow? What is your favorite quote?
L.A.W., I pray for you daily. I love you. All is well ;o).
