A Word of Encouragement

A Word of encouragement

In recent conversations, with friends, family and other women that I may come across, I have come to learn many are going through a difficult season with discouragement. Many feel defeated and desiring to give up. Having gone through difficult seasons in various areas myself, I just wanted to offer some words of encouragement and share two things that has helped me stay motivated and encouraged.

Often in life, things don’t always go as planned and there are many curve balls and stumbling blocks along the way. Trust me, I have had my fair share of “surprises” and unexpected events and I’m sure there are many more to come on my journey. Many times I have come to feel discouraged and defeated in reaching goals, pursuing dreams or even tackling projects that I have worked on where I haven’t come to see the fruit or positive end result as I’d like. What I have learned is that when those feelings of discouragement come, I am reminded of two things, what and who brought me through those previous difficult seasons successfully.

Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right – Henry Ford

The what, is belief in myself. Henry Ford said it right, If you believe you can then you will. And visa versa. One of the darkest times in my life was going through Postpartum Depression, a time of feeling helpless, hopeless, defeated and lonely; one picture I forcefully kept in my mind was me being well, healthy, strong and secure. Although negative thoughts bombarded frequently, I pressed on to believe the best. Eventually healing manifested.

“…If God is for me, who can be against me”. Romans 8:31

Well, we know the Who. God. Believing that God is for me was/is a very powerful element of receiving the victory in all circumstances. Knowing that the creator of the Universe wants what’s best for me diminishes the feelings of discouragement and defeat. I’m reminded that although things may not be as I’d like them to be at that current moment, they are all working together for my good. And that is something so beautiful to rest on in times of feeling discouraged.

So Ladies After Wisdom (L.A.W.), feeling discouraged and defeated? Have you been waiting for God to send you someone to encourage you? Well, I’m here to tell you, you can and will make it. Although things may not be the way you desire them to be now, they are working together for your good. So you have fallen down, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and continue where you left off.  Don’t give up on your dreams, they are still at reach. Many negative things that happen in life are distractions, interfering with us pursuing our purpose and destiny. Stay focused and motivated. Keep company that encourages and motivates you as well as holds you accountable. L.A.W, I pray for you daily. I love you. All is well ;o).

Read: Romans 8:28-32

Affirmation: God is on my side. I believe I can accomplish anything.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for today. Thank You for giving me purpose and the strength to pursue my dreams. Father, often in my pursuit I become fearful, discouraged and unmotivated. Help me to press through those feelings. Also, help me Lord to stay focused and on track. Lead me to the right friendships and relationships to uplift and motivate me. Bless me with accountability partners. I love You.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
